Problem
Talent & Culture teams needed a more effective way to stay informed, aligned, and connected to evolving business priorities. Existing communication methods were often fragmented, overly dense, or disconnected from day-to-day work, making it difficult for teams to quickly understand what was changing, why it mattered, and how it impacted them. This created gaps in alignment, slowed adoption of initiatives, and reduced overall engagement.
Opportunity
The opportunity was to design a scalable, repeatable communication experience that could translate complex business updates into clear, engaging, and actionable content. By combining leadership messaging with real employee perspectives, the goal was to create a format that not only informed but also built connection, reinforced culture, and supported organizational alignment.
My Role
I led concept development, storyboard design, art direction, production, and post-production for a recurring video series, partnering closely with cross-functional teams and executive leadership, including a VP, to shape content and ensure alignment with business priorities. I also directed and collaborated with distributed teams across multiple regions, guiding talent and maintaining consistency in execution at scale.
Approach
I designed The Buzz as a repeatable content system rather than a one-off video series, focusing on clarity, consistency, and engagement. Each episode followed a structured narrative that balanced leadership insights with authentic employee voices, making complex updates more relatable and easier to understand. I worked closely with stakeholders to identify key themes and priorities, then translated those into concise, story-driven content designed for quick consumption.
To support scalability, I established a consistent format and visual approach that could be replicated across episodes while allowing flexibility for different topics. I also directed production across multiple locations, ensuring alignment in tone, quality, and messaging. Throughout the process, I focused on reducing friction for the viewer—keeping content concise, visually engaging, and directly relevant to their role and day-to-day work.
UX Considerations
The experience was designed around how internal users consume information in a fast-paced environment. I prioritized clarity and brevity to reduce cognitive load, ensuring users could quickly grasp key messages without needing to sift through dense communications. The structure supported multiple engagement styles—passive viewing, quick updates, or deeper reflection—while reinforcing consistency across episodes to build familiarity and trust. By integrating real employee voices alongside leadership messaging, the experience also strengthened relatability and inclusion, making the content more impactful and memorable.
Outcome
The Buzz grew from a targeted communication tool within a single organization to a broader platform adopted across Talent & Culture, expanding its reach and influence. It improved awareness of key initiatives, strengthened alignment across teams, and increased engagement with internal communications. By creating a scalable and repeatable system, the series enabled the organization to communicate more effectively at speed while maintaining clarity, consistency, and connection.
